Our single visitors are actually paying 1500฿ each way.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 1:15 pm I’ve used Bliss Travel before and they are good and not expensive - the only reason why I don’t use them all the time is due to my wife preferring to use someone she’s known for years - very reliable and safe (by Thai standards), but considerably more expensive- as in 3,000 rather than 2,000!!

I’m sure you appreciate the problem of trying to convince your wife that it’s better to save B1-1,500 by using an unknown source!!Big Boy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 3:23 pmOur single visitors are actually paying 1500฿ each way.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 1:15 pm I’ve used Bliss Travel before and they are good and not expensive - the only reason why I don’t use them all the time is due to my wife preferring to use someone she’s known for years - very reliable and safe (by Thai standards), but considerably more expensive- as in 3,000 rather than 2,000!!

OK you folks, many thanks for the various plugs, & reccomendations..Opted to use Goy Bravo (good reputation, & at 1800b the cost was not to shabby)...
Re: Taxi service to Bangkok airport
I have used Bliss Travel more than a dozen times, mainly because they have an online request form, so no misunderstandings.
Always very satisfied with service (except one), but the fact that we never have same driver or vehicle worries me a bit, as if they go on the web and find just anyone who is available in the area.
The one exception to good service was butch lady who I think reached 140k in a few areas trying to prove something.
Made worse by fact that we had chosen the “Eco car” this one time at 1,500 (mentioned above?), as we had only hand carried luggage.
However, it was a smaller lightweight vehicle that bounced around at higher speeds, not a good choice to save 300.
I did not complain, no more ‘bun fights’, or the alternative of profound apologies.
Besides, all other drivers have been very good with excellent vehicles – Camry or upgraded to a Fortuner, for 1,800.
I think Don Muang is now 2,000 – not sure why. Not a problem as we now avoid the more chaotic Don Muang.

There’s a lot to be said for having a driver that you know and trust - it helps when looking for a face in a sea of people in the arrivals hall - we also have the drivers contact details so can 1, confirm a few days before on pickup and 2, on the day to let him know we’ve landed/cleared customs etc. whether that’s worth B1,000+ is down to the individual!!

I generally use the bus now but when I used to get a driver from Bangkok, I always got my partner to book one I knew and trusted so I could relax and sleep on the way down.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 8:16 am There’s a lot to be said for having a driver that you know and trust - it helps when looking for a face in a sea of people in the arrivals hall - we also have the drivers contact details so can 1, confirm a few days before on pickup and 2, on the day to let him know we’ve landed/cleared customs etc. whether that’s worth B1,000+ is down to the individual!!
