I remember older guys in the pub saying "I'll go get my hat" after telling jokes that went flat signifying it was probably time to go home.
Now that only "gangsta" types wear hats, it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

Yep, the brother of a man I know (both Welsh) once said: 'whose shoes is them boots?'

He also is reported to have said: 'see them two houses over there? Mine's the one in the middle', but I can't testify to that one.

That as well but for some, it was a hat.
