Bangkok Hospital mail delivery robot

Post by Robert williams »

Visiting the hospital I noticed a cylindrical machine rolling around somewhat purposefully. It adeptly avoided all obstacles. Friends have suggested that it is either a giant vacum cleaner an air cleaner or a mobile post box. I am dubious about it usage as an internal post box . Enlightenment please?

No but I should have. Cylindrical, possibly reaching waist height with a horizontal window across its middle that seemed to have a blue glow. It seemed too big to be a vacum cleaner (?)

It's a mail delivery robot.
You can see the nurses taking and feeding documents.

Thank you for both replies the problem being that they contradict one another. As a question: if it does deliver mail how would the nurse feed the mail to it. Not from the front as that would cause it to swerve away. Possibly by sneaking up behind it after a short chase?

A friend found it online it is a happybot it delivers stuff(?) Not to be confused with the hideous happybot monkey which it seems is a comfort when one is stressed.

After stop at destination it will not move away. There are small doors similar to mailboxes, can be opened by code

Does it look like the image below? If so, then probably a document delivery robot.

Is Bangkok Hospital still considered as a commercial ripoff in the area where it's first money, then the patient ?

Why don't you call in and ask the numerous expats and Thai's you will see attending for treatment.
