I have become used to the convenience and hygeine of the bum gun and wish to take one back to the UK and ask a plumber to install it in our home there.
If anyone has done this, or if anyone is a plumber with knowledge of UK sizes, water pressures and valves, then I would be grateful for some answers to my questions.
1. Are the ones for sale in Homepro etc. sturdy enough to deal with the water pressure in UK supplies, that is if the pressures are stronger than here?
2. Are the diameters of the pipes the same in the UK as here, i.e. will the fitting be straightforward, or will adaptors be needed to connect the bum spray to a T joint fitted to say a UK bathroom cold water pipe that runs from the sink supply or the supply to the lavatory cistern. If an adaptor, preferably with a shut off facility, is needed can it be purchased here?
Any answers, help or advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks.

No idea what the pressure is in the UK, but it is bound to be much higher than here. Most of the fittings here aee 1/2 NPT, and only good for low pressure.
You can buy the following in the UK, which is probably a better way to go:

^ You can buy all in the UK - readily available through the likes of Amazon and plumber's merchants. I've not installed one yet, but did speak to a friend who's a plumber/heating engineer who suggested installing a small in-line valve to reduce pressure. You can also buy kits that will take water from the Toilet Tank (so pressure not an issue).

I prefered a good bidet in the UK. Easier to use IMO, and because bum gun water was too bloody cold anyway. If you have a bathroom big enough I'd consider it.

I can assure you at this time of the year in the UK, your rear-end wouldn’t appreciate a blast from the cold water supply!!404cameljockey wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 7:59 pm I prefered a good bidet in the UK. Re: Fitting a Bum spray gun in the UK.
We missed our bidet in Thailand, and Italy, but the bathrooms in the UK would need a complete refit to squeeze in a bidet. We found great bumguns from Victorian Plumbing that have a thermostatic mixing valve and can offer warm water, for under £80 each, so we have fitted a couple. https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/mo ... valve-hoseREEM wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 6:46 pm I have become used to the convenience and hygeine of the bum gun and wish to take one back to the UK and ask a plumber to install it in our home there.

I did this years ago when I lived in Alaska. As others have mentioned, the cold water doomed the experiment. I considered putting in a small tank to allow the water to warm to room temperature but space was a limiting factor and I never installed it.
