Completely agree with what you say Dannie Boy. I hate people digging up 20 year old stuff to have a go at people.
But you're mistaken. One of Chrissy's victims was 16 not her. She was a grown woman attacking a teenager.

Cheeky buggar, I’m a long way off from becoming an octogenarian - but I’ll hopefully make that landmark, without suffering any suspension from the forumdtaai-maai wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 11:51 pmOuch!! I wouldn't mind if Smith was being original, but he isn't. Outrageous dress to get media coverage was 'de rigueur' for the pop / rock stars from my youth, as was the whole 'sexuality as mystique' thing.
Bowie, Jagger and so many others, all got the mascara out. Even dear old nanny Reg started dressing outrageously, bless him.
Was there ever a song as powerful as Lou Reeds 'walk on the wild side', to challenge society's supposed orthodoxy? Can you imagine such a song seeing the light of day in today's faux puritanical age?

I'm a big fan of the Kinks, so I should have thought about that. The biggest fuss about the song was the beeb objecting to the use of coca cola in the lyrics and subsequent presses saw it changed to cherry cola. Although I think the record was banned in some areas of the US.
