I wonder why they are manning the Soi 102 crossing when the problem is Soi 94.

In the spirit of the Holidays where a few jovial embers may still be burning?: Is it because it takes that long for the train to stop? :duck:

I just assumed its an area where some work is still going on? They are very good, if you are the only car and there is time, they will wave you through before pulling the barriers across.

Only 2 days ago we were waiting at the 94 crossing, when 4 Farangs decided they could beat the train on foot. Fortunately, they were right, but if we think back to a previous fatality there, another Farang thought the same and tripped. He won't try again.

I think those plastic hanging rails that form a curtain are cheap and would prevent 99 out of a 100 from having a go

But clearly not the idiot in the twitter video

I worked for the last few years for a small railway in the UK, it has been running for 965 years a 13,5 mile track about 10 level crossings. There have been many incidents and accidents. It is on a small gauge railway 2 drivers have been killed and many incidents of cars jumping the lights, in recent years the incidents have decreased because all barriers have barriers and alarms, but the train drivers have to be alert, maximum speed of train is 25 mph.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

Taking into account the 000’s of km of railway lines with and without crossing barriers, it’s probably surprising that there aren’t even more accidents than currently happens!!

Lindosfan, you must be talking about the Hythe and Dymchurch railway. Used it many times and still running a scheduled service.
