Grand Market Hua Hin

Returning to Hua Hin after almost 3 years I notice that Market Village is a little down from before, while BluPort is significantly down - as expected, I suppose. But the Grand Market has gone - I wonder why? It was always bustling!

Grand Market is still there, but slightly to the left of where it used to be.

When you say left, do you mean from Petchkasem Rd? I am assuming we are talking about the same 'Grand Market' next to Soi 86?

Yes, I think there used to be a Thai Boxing stadium on the site.

Are we talking here of the nightly Grand Market in the huge area between the Grand Plaza, where the boxing place is and the Sao Paulo hospital. If so, it's gone to meet it's maker. Before covid, the economy and tourism was down and the market was struggling, covid seemed to kill it off. Until recently the tat night market was a shadow of what it was and will probably return to shadow status in a few weeks.

I've never been to the new place but I've been told it's on your left as you go up towards the Grand Hotel. I've looked up that way and seen a lot of lights. If it isn't the new market, what is it please?

I've just looked on Google Maps, and it most definitely shows a night market in the location I'm saying.

There is a 'night market' there but it's very small compared with what the 'Grand Market' was in it's hay day.
