They’re normally too busy weaving in between lanes 1-2-3 to have time to flash their lights or honk their horn!!

In the US, the lane where you enter the freeway, roadway, or whatever you want to call it, is called the inside or left-hand lane. The lane that is supposed to be for drivers that are going straight ahead and not exiting, is called the outside, right-hand, or fast lane. on 4-lane city streets, the turning lane is called the inside lane. The only time it's important to note the distinctions, is when you're involved in an accident and have to make a police and insurance company report, otherwise, it barely constitutes a discussion.

Driving on the pavement is illegal in most countries whereas in the US it's normal to drive on the pavement.

I've always walked on the pavement. Do that in the US and you'll be run over!!
