Yes, I basically withdrew a couple of days ago when the squabbling started.

The page itself has become chaos, with absolutely no sense of order, and as you say is now serving too many personal interests. Additionally, it also became apparent that priority for aid was a demographic who are a lot fitter than I am. A shame, because it was a brilliant idea.

I was excluded because I couldn't find latex gloves in my size. I look at those who have basically taken over the page, promoting their own services and wonder what safety standards they will be applying.

A shame - but that is just typical of Facebook and the mentality of the freeloaders that live on it.

I know HHF doesn't have the same audience as 'FB Hua Hin' but maybe you could consider setting up something smaller here for those with genuine intentions to help such as yourselves.

Unfortunately, I'm locked down now until 1 May, so can't offer any physical assistance, but if there's enough interest, I can certainly help admin any initiative. It was lack of admin that saw the Facebook page fall into disrepute. It had a leader, but she repeatedly said she wasn't going to organise. That left it open to too many chiefs and no indians.

I would be happy to help anyone with their shopping needs within a reasonable distance of the Thap Tai area.Anyone that needs help can PM me.

I would suggest, to minimise contact, that those needing help should have access to Line or Whats App in order to send a map to their location. Have Internet banking in order to transfer funds online.

I shop early doors at Macro,Pranburi in order to minimise contact with others (mask and latex gloves). Shopping to be left outside recipients address together with till receipt. Payment up front preferable if it's a big list. Payments may be an issue but we got to work with a level of trust here.

So, as the Thais are so fond of saying, "Up To You"

Yes, we are already helping some elderly friends similarly (I can't do it personally). Delivered to gate, bank transfer etc.

The below may not apply too much to those here in Thailand, but those elsewhere may find it useful, or if you know someone who could benefit from the advice they give.

Yes, it is very creditable. I see something similar has been happening in the Khao Takiab area here as well.

The latest government handout is just 2,000฿, which has to keep many people fed for a long time i.e. in Hua Hin we're already into the 7th week of many people being unemployed with no income. So its currently less than 300฿/week, which is decreasing with every day the current restrictions continue.

I remember 'Corner 112' issuing food 'take-aways' on a daily basis during the last lockdown. Must have given away thousands from their restaurant and other places.

BUT.... The authorities here stepped in and told them to stop it!

Kerry Express delivers FREE Covid care boxes to patients self-isolating at home

https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/kerr ... ng-at-home

More details at links.

Thailand’s popular parcel deliver company Kerry Express is distributing their free “Kerry Care Box” to asymptomatic Covid patients who are self-isolating at home from now until after the Songkran festival. Face masks, paracetamol pills, cough syrup, alcohol, Fa Talai Jon herbal capsules and a thermometer are among the supplies included in the bundle for those who require at-home treatment during the next few weeks. You can apply for them here.

In Thailand, people who test positive for Covid-19 but have mild or no symptoms are classified in the “green” zone for symptom severity. Healthcare specialists often encourage such patients to isolate themselves at home. Kerry Care Boxes are being sent to the homes of green-zoned Covid patients who apply from April 7 to 21, according to Kerry Express chief operations officer Warawut Natpradith…

“Kerry Express is ready to take part in the effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in Thailand.”

That is a massive improvement on a couple of weeks ago when my son and his wife were isolating in a local condo. They were told they had to report to the hospital to collect their packs. When he told me, I said, "You mean I have to collect it, and bring it to you?" No, they had to go themselves, and prove their ID with ID Cards. They did go, but there were so many Covid patients just milling around, waiting, they went back to the condo with nothing.
