So I am sitting here on an absolutely georgious California evening (there are benefits to Global Warming) drinking some CA chardonnay and reading the Economist. There is a feature article on Mr. Brown.
So where will he take Britian, and will he be Bush's lap dog as was Sir Tony?
Who is Gordan Brown and why should I care?

Well, with local elections on Thursday, Labour expected not to do well and Tony Blair being asked to confirm his retirement date before them, I wouldn't be too sure that Gordon Brown will be leading the country anywhere in the foreseeable future.
Like gooze, I don't live in the UK and have never voted in either local or national elections - ever.
However, I do like to try and keep abreast of things political back home, so the above is just my take on what I've been reading in the British press recently.

He's been the most successful chancellor of the exchequer for many a year and has overseen a period of economic stability that has led to sustained growth in the markets and wealth of most UK citizens.
But he'll probaly be best remembered as the man who single handedly destroyed the retirement plans and pension schemes of millions through decimating the "occupational pensions" so many of us either voluntarily, or otherwise, contributed to.
He's affected my plans and I know of at least one other on this board. I know you can't have everything, but...
He'll also probably be the next PM when it will come tumbling down around him.
You reap what you sow.
