Peter Green Dies Aged 73

Post by lomuamart »

A sad day for blues fans. I still listen to early Fleetwood Mac and his solo stuff and Splinter Group reincarnations.

After years of self-imposed exile from music, in no small way brought about by mental health problems exacerbated by copious LSD use, he recorded "In the Skies" which I managed to get in green vinyl. It's in the cupboard under my stairs in London. It's probably scratched to buggery now but I'd like to get my hands on that again.

RIP, Peter Green. A genuinely good man, albeit somewhat mixed up, who managed to give all his money away to charity.

Legendary guitarist ... RIP.

There is technology available to remove clicks, pops and scratches from LP's and transfer the music to a digital source, i.e. disc.

Wonderful musician, sadly his illness stopped him composing and playing. I still listen to Fleetwood Mac regularly. RIP
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

My first introduction to Fleetwood Mac was "Rumours" - from then started listening to earlier music and fell in love with it all. Always on my "Playlist" and I suspect always will be... Strange but true, still can't watch F1 without "The Chain" playing in my head......

Certainly never a boring band, and certainly never a boring guitarist - R.I.P Mr Green.

Yes, a sad loss. One of my favourites and he and his Mac were legendry. I regularly listen to a couple of compilations of early Mac when alone in my car. I gave up on the band when he left. Great music maker and musician. RIP Mr Green.
