Hi all, I'm a Brit and currently living and working in China. My partner and I are looking at Retirement options and Hua Hin is high on the list. We came over for 10 days in September to do a bit of scouting and Hua Hin ticked most of the boxes.
The big decision now is whether to rent or buy. We stayed at Orchid Paradise as we wanted to get a feel for what Villa life was like and really liked it. Having spent the best part of 10 years in China acclimatising is not likely to be a huge problem. Our move is probably a year away but we will come over regularly to do more research.
Apologies in advance but I will probably lean on you good people from time to time to try and fill in some of the knowledge gaps.
Best,
Ian

Hi Ian, and welcome! This site is a brilliant place to find out loads of stuff - I’ve used it myself for so many things and it’s made my life a load easier since moving to Hua Hin full time (from Hong Kong) in 2015. Hope you find somewhere to suit and you’ll enjoy your new life here.

Welcome to the Forum and ask away with your questions. Rent or buy has been asked many times and there are so many variables, its almost impossible to give a definitive answer without a lot more information, but the sensible advice most people give is to rent first before deciding whether to take the plunge. That will at least give you time to decide whether the area is to your liking and whether Hua Hin is the place for your long term retirement
