Well actually Mr Homer, I clicked on the word “rad” and used “look up” and it came back with a blank, so I thought you might have spelt it wrong meaning to use either bad or sad or whatever - it’s definitely not a word that I am familiar with (from the UK not the US).

Re: Limerick Thread
It's a shortening of the word radical. It's commonly used by the kids to describe an amazing thing (overstating as kids are bound to do). Like a rad concert, a rad party, etc. One of those words I believe MDMK said she doesn't like!!Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 8:59 amWell actually Mr Homer, I clicked on the word “rad” and used “look up” and it came back with a blank, so I thought you might have spelt it wrong meaning to use either bad or sad or whatever - it’s definitely not a word that I am familiar with (from the UK not the US).

When I right click on a word, one of the menu selections is 'Search google for ' then the word. Perhaps your "look up" is a dictionary.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 8:59 am Well actually Mr Homer, I clicked on the word “rad” and used “look up” and it came back with a blank, so I thought you might have spelt it wrong meaning to use either bad or sad or whatever - it’s definitely not a word that I am familiar with (from the UK not the US).

C'mon guys, this thread is a lot fun, and many of you are enjoying it. Its a form of poetry, grant the guy a bit of poetic licence. At the end of the day, its a word I've never heard of, but when I took Homer's advice and looked it up, I thought it was an excellent fit. How many of us have felt like sh*t the morning after a really good night out.
Please don't let this 'fun thread' degenerate into a slanging match.

Re: Limerick Thread
I’m with you all the way BB, but like you I had never heard of the word rad being used in this context hence my query as to wether it was perhaps a spelling mistake as the quick dictionary check drew a blank. I’m sure you’ll have noticed that I am a regular contributor to this thread and equally enjoy all of the contributionsBig Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 9:43 am
