In response to your email, as we checked we regret to inform there are nil flights available for HHQ-KUL in the month of November.

Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18
Guess its official - Airasia finally wrote back weeks after my initial enquiry ...

^ I'm not sure that constitutes an official announcement that the service has been terminated? Could the flights be fully booked, could there be other reasons?
Has anyone seen any print articles that Air Asia has decided to terminate the service? Pete

I've not seen anything, but in my opinion the incentive of reduced taxes are ending, so are the flights. Airline after airline comes to Hua Hin. Airline after airline leaves. Very sad, but not unexpected.
I'd personally like to see them trying the internal routes, but they obviously don't perceive any benefits.

HI All
I thought that when the flights were originally announced the cut off date was October, in fact it was October 26th.
'To commemorate the announcement of the new route, AirAsia is offering promotional all-in-fares from RM79* one way on airasia.com and on AirAsia’s mobile app from now to 4 March 2018 for travel period between 18 May 2018 and 26 October 2018.'
I hope they may only be delaying a 6 month review of operations.
Regards

How could this route possible be profitable and sustainable at 1,000 Baht returncaller wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 1:01 pm I just checked AA Bkk to KK for November and flights are available (1000B return!).
So I think there might be a variety of reasons that details don't show yet. As a new route, they want to be certain it's going to be a profitable before releasing more flights, or at least consider the schedule, if some flights are more popular than others. it might be the period the license has been granted until - at this particular moment in time? Or it might be that they are, as discussed, looking at adding fights to and from elsewhere, which might affect scheduling?

One of the earliest posts on this topic from somebody who booked a flight quotes a return fare of 2700 Baht which should be sustainableStevePIraq wrote:How could this route possible be profitable and sustainable at 1,000 Baht returncaller wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 1:01 pm I just checked AA Bkk to KK for November and flights are available (1000B return!).

Hi All
I think the BKK to KK (Kota Kinabalu) flight starts in August and the initial fares are loss leader promotions. That said the last airline to do that route was Smile and it did not last very long.

Actually, if you're referring to the KK in my post, it stands for Khon Kaen! And the reason it's so cheap is because you would be booking for months and months in advance and the price only goes up the nearer you get to the flight date. We were planning on going to go Bkk-KK next weekend (holiday w/e) and the price was too much for my other half to accept.
Talk is cheap
Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18
The fare currently being offered by Air Asia from HHQ to KUL is still being defined as "PROMO",during OCT ,departing on 22nd,returning 26th will cost anywhere between 80-100 us dlrs, and that is a base fare.
Still looks as if the final flight will possibly be 26th Oct,as still no flights/dates/prices quoted after this date, as previously mentioned in another post.

Sorry Caller
thought you were using BKI's local nomenclature as Khon Kaen airport code would have been KKC.

I spoke with the Air Asia manager at Hua Hin airport this morning. I learned that because of change in weather patterns after the current rainy season especially the prevailing winds, the airline and the aviation authorities are considering changing the timing of Air Asia flights to Hua Hin, perhaps to earlier in the day. And once this is sorted, November onwards should be bookable online. He suggests to check the website now and again or be notified by email.

Thanks for the update limbu. I guess by the time they've updated their schedule it will be too late to go!

Booking for November is now possible with the same schedule as before, but there is a remark:
Operation of flights is subject to obtaining government approval.
