Strange species. Most wild animal babies are naturally camouflaged. That one stands out like a ripe melon! Pete

I read somewhere that it's thought that the babies are orange so that if they wander off in the foliage that the mother can easily spot them. Who knows? But yes they are so strange (and adorable :-)

I think a good place for this video:MDMK wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 12:36 pm I gave an update on another thread on Thursday. Found the langurs and they are simply THE most adorable creatures ever. I can't rate a trip down there highly enough.
For anyone looking for them.... after the checkpoint where you leave your passport behind, head for the temple. Next to the temple while facing it there are stairs on the right hand side. Between the temple and the stairs there are some massive rocks with statues of langurs on them. You have to climb up the green bit between the temple and the stairs. Not far, maybe 30 to 50 paces. Sounds silly but follow your nose for the smell of monkey pee. It's quite potent.
Heading back down in a few days... would like to be as early as possible to avoid the heat (as much as one can). Does anyone know what time they will let you into the base?

Re: Places to visit in Hua Hin
Wow Big Boy , you sure provided a great list of places to see. As many times as I have
visited, and travelled around by motorbike, I have only seen about 50 percent of all those
places. I still like some of the beaches south of the City of Hua Hin, as they are usually
a bit quieter, and the trip by bike is good as well I always find the locals are so friendly
and the roads in pretty good shape.
