Cool Box needs repair
I have a cool box that can plug into 220/12v.
It hasn't been used for a few years and isn't working.
Any recommendations where to get the box back up and running would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

What brand is it? Engel are now made in Thailand by Toshiba.
I do not know this place, but may be worth checking as they are service agents for Toshiba.

Re: Cool Box needs repair
It is probably a thermal absorption unit which does not have a compressor, similar to the propane Dometic refrigerators found in travel trailers. They have 3 gases, ammonia, hydrogen, somtimes sodium chromate, or salt water. If not used for a long time the gases can settle into wrong sections of the cycle. Usually can be redistributed properly by rolling it and turning it upside down for a dew minutes. Some units will redistribute by laying on its side. Find which by trial and error. Since they use ammonia the tubes are steel, not copper, so can rust out if allowed to be wet. If you can smell ammonia you are screwed as those small units are not normally repairable.
Also they need to sit level to work properly
Here is a video that explains how they work,

Should have mentioned if the unit is making no heat the problem is probably electrical but if it makes even a small amount of heat the problem is probably the refrigerant. And altho a refrigerant leak is not repairable an electric fault can possibly be corrected. Try rolling it and turning it upside down for a bit, you might be lucky

It's a Portacool 45 by Tristar.
No sign of life at all when plugged in.
Here's a couple of pics

Have you used it yourself previously? If so, what supply was it on? It could be as simple as an internal fuse, or a resettable thermal cut out device. Should not be too hard to track down the fault.
Everthing about it on the internet is in Dutch / Skandi, so not much help if you cannot read it.
edit: Is this the unit?

Re: Cool Box needs repair
The model number is KB-7345 (39 litres) very similar to model number KB-7645 (41 litres) shown in your link.
It was purchased in the Netherlands and used quite frequently but not in the past 4 years.
Thanks for all the advice.

Hmm, the 2 systems are usually completely separate, but may have a common thermostat. On 220 Volts it will be using the compressor, and on 12 Volts a "Peltier effect" device. As shown on those specs, the 12 Volt cycle is not very efficient, especially with a high ambient temperature. Does it have a change over switch for 12 Volts to 220 Volts, or just the separate leads that appear on your posted photo? It appears to me to be a fault common to both systems.
Or, as the Peltier device is silent, you may not be able to hear it even if it is working. Depending on how it has been stored it is also possible that rodents / ants etc., have got into it and damaged something.
