It seems the foam party at MV is being built around the 'fun fair' and food stalls.

Well, it was a lot less busy than last year but I drank beer and got wet the same as ever last night. In some ways, it was an improvement as there were no traffic problems getting into town.

Yes, looking at my son this morning, I don't think there was any restriction on alcohol last night  . I saw many photos, and the place looked to be absolutely heaving.

I'll set off later to do my annual tour. I don't think I'll go tooled up this year - I'll be a defenseless onlooker :D I'll strap the Go Pro on though.

My Songkran celebration consisted of a failed attempt to wash my bike.

Garden hose split and sprayed water everywhere.

Wash bucket bottom broke, dumping its contents as soon as I lifted it after filling.

I did my normal walk, but a big bonus this year - we managed to get a tuk tuk home. OK, we paid a little over the top, but it was worth it. I always hate the walk home, and Mrs BB came along this year as well. With her bad legs, it would have probably taken 2 hours. First time I've ever found a tuk tuk on Songkran afternoon.

Enjoyed the walk as usual this year. I found that going out unarmed, I was shot at as much as usual. On our walk through Soi 80 it was a lot more lively than other years, and Pone Kingpetch Park was strange. Water was being shot at you from all angles, yet there were people in there also firing guns.

Binthabat itself was quite lively, but the other streets were quite quiet.

I wore my Go Pro. I haven't looked at how the videos have turned out, but I'll post some later.

For me, another enjoyable Songkran.

Yes are very enjoyable afternoon, everyone was in party mood. Good natured fun all round. As usual I took a rucksack filled with a towel and change of clothing and as usual as soon as I ventured out on the street I was soaked again. Just like the ending of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with water replacing the bullets. Would not have missed it for anything.

Traffic along Railway Road was stupid as usual, and I did manage my annual collision with a motorcycle (not on video). Fortunately, I came off best again.

Before I go much further, after telling everybody I wasn't going out tooled up, I'm sure some of you are wondering why I was packing a piece. It was too heavy for my youngest granddaughter, so granddad was designated packhorse. I wasn't going to carry, and not use it :D

This video shows a quick wander around Pone Kingpetch Park, where water jets had been installed, It was crazy wet here, yet people were still shooting their guns.

I don't think the video has caught it, but their was a Farang/Thai wedding taking place - both were absolutely sodden.

Video 4 sees us arrive on Soi Binthabat, and find a bar to rest our weary legs.

In video 5, it was a walk around the block. This was probably the biggest disappointment of the day. After seeing the photos of last night, I was hoping it would be a little busier. Still fun wandering around though.

A couple of hours ago, I mentioned this was the first time we'd ever managed to get a taxi home at Songkran. Well, even the ride home wasn't without incident. We were ambushed twice - the second time was a brilliant delivery. LOL, the perfect end to the perfect day.

Does it look like Hua Hin has got away without major problems last night, or are they being covered up?
