Isn't there a difference between UK and USA? UK is last weekend in March and October.

I think it's televised on FOX network as it is every year. I saw the end of qualifying on TRUE channel 6?? but didn't notice if Fox. Just glanced at the final rankings listed. Pete

Things may be changing. Some talk about doing away with it but no idea if it will become reality.

Just like daylight saving, it just cannot be left alone! Last year the F1 official website had a small window that listed your local time under the starting time. I guess Bernie took it with him!

Glad that I posted as would have missed the first hour! Although now that Ricky ar doe has disgraced himself, it might not be worth watching.

^ Young Verstappen is going to have Ricky ar doe mumbling to himself in some corner sooner or later. It may even be this season. I think that boy is going to be the next Hamilton. Pete

I post this about Superbru F1 scoring this year as it has changed:

Changes to motorsport predictor scoring

Hutch | Commercial Director
Tue 21 Mar 2017
We are excited to announce some changes to our F1 and MotoGP Predictor games.

Why was change needed?
There were a few issues with the old system, including not being able to change picks once they were made, only being able to pick Pole Position if you made all your picks before qualifying, and the relative luck involved in predicting the exact finishing positions of the whole of the Top 10.

Changing Picks
You can now change your picks at any time, unless you have locked them to see your pool mates' picks. This means that you can now deal with a driver who drops out after you've picked him, or tweak your picks if a massive weather system is coming in and you're confident that it will change the way the race turns out. Or maybe you just want to play tactically, getting the chance to pick pole and then adjusting your picks after you know the starting grid. Just be aware that if you change your picks after qualifying starts, you'll lose your Early Bru Point.

Scoring
Looking at last year's data, we can see that 82% of people made picks before qualifying, and that people that mostly picked before qualifying made up 95% of the Top 500 positions.

So it was clearly an advantage to pick before qualifying, picking up the Early Bru Points, and this brings us to the other factor to consider for F1 - the predictability of each race.

Of the 21 F1 Grands Prix in 2016, Lewis Hamilton won 10, Nico Rosberg won 9, and Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen won one each. This meant that the differentiation in scoring was largely down to your accuracy of picking the drivers in 3rd to 10th.

In our scoring changes, we have tried to model what's important, and how we tend to follow motorsport. And we are also retaining the Early Bru Point (EBP), which is designed to compensate those that aren't able to make picks after qualifying, whilst offering a tactical risk and reward consideration for those that are.

So the scoring system for 2017 is as follows:
2pt EBP for submitting all your picks before qualifying (although if you change any picks after qualifying starts, you will forfeit the EBP)
1pt Pole Position
1pt Points Finishers - per driver that you pick that finishes in the top 10, irrespective of order
1pt Bonus per driver in an exact podium position
0.5 pt Bonus per driver in an exact position from 4th to 10th (* added after feedback from users)
2pt Podium Bonus if you pick all three podium finishers, irrespective of order
1pt Fastest Lap

Take a look at the Play page and the Scoring System pages for more details.

Please note that we don't make scoring system changes lightly, and we analyse reams of data from previous seasons, constantly striving to make Superbru games as fun and fair as possible.

Let us know if you have any thoughts at this stage, and hopefully this will make for more exciting F1 and MotoGP seasons ahead!

Update - 0.5pt bonus for exact positions between 4th and 10th: this was added after initial feedback from the audience.

Things are hard to copy/paste this year due to the change in the Superbru website format, so you'll probably see screen shots like the below until I figure out an easier way.

A surprise start of sorts with Vettel taking it from Hamilton, and Bottas challenging the entire race. Bodes well for an interesting season.

I lucked out and had the best race with 15.0 points. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come given last year's disaster. The top three are Pete, MwBrown, and Lindosfan. Bamboo was the only one to pick his countryman for fastest lap, and he got it. :D

Next up is Shanghai on April 9. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

If you click on the below spreadsheet it will open a bit larger in size in a new window. At least it does for me using Chrome.

Chinese practice was a mess, see link below. Really, there wasn't any practice. They'll try tomorrow along with qualifying but the weather for the race doesn't look promising on Sunday. There's an issue concerning visibility for the medical helicopter to operate. Today it couldn't, and if it can't on race day, the race will be delayed until it can. Not much to go on when making picks for this race so far. Pete
