We don't mention the women on here much, but we should this time. Quite an accomplishment for England. Pete

Re: The Rugby Thread
Very mixed feelings: -
Hard for me to say, but on the whole, France deserved to win . However, they are cheating buggers from the top drawer and how in the hell is Wayne Barnes allowed to ref...... ?BB - now perhaps you'll understand why (mostly Welsh) people correctly think he's a tw@t.
I love Ireland......
Congrats to the English women and Under 20's - deserved Grand Slams.

Well played Ireland you stopped the Red Roses' playing and kept a whole load of possession - but it still went to the last play.

Problems with the Super Rugby league. They're cutting 3 teams and going back to 15 next season. 2 SAF and 1 Australian. Pete

Re: The Rugby Thread
Some really good rugby being played by the New Zealand Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders of the Super 15. Worth watching on Setanta TRUE 669 on the weekends as with each of the above teams you're watching a mini-All Black squad. The Hurricanes just beat the Australian Brumbies 56-21 after being behind 21-14 at the half. It was like watching ballet with these guys in the second half, truly mesmerizing.
Now, we'll see what Aviva and the Pro 12 have to offer this weekend. Good time of the year for Rugby, including the NRL. Pete

Re: The Rugby Thread
Observation/question. Not once have I seen a televised rugby match where a player argues or makes any gesture of complaint when receiving a yellow card. They simply turn away and walk calmly to the sideline. In football as we know cards bring out theatrics and all kinds of drama before the player eventually accepts his fate.
Is this just a gentleman's response in rugby, or is there some rule that if you even blink an eye when carded you get something more severe? Whatever it is they should make it part of football as well. Pete
