And I would guess that one would also have to go out to the new location to make a booking or any chance they will continue to have a desk at the bus station as they do now? Anyone shed any light on this?
Yes, I am aware that bookings can be done online but not something I choose to do.

They have a very nice new set up near the airport with a booking office

It may be very nice, but based on my last tuk tuk ride to the airport, the cost has more than doubled to Bangkok for me.

For some it may now not make the boat trip to Pattaya look so expensive.

I'm sure they do. The question was might they also have a booking office/desk at the bus station where it use to be?
If you don't know just say so - or please say nothing.

Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
I was there today booking tickets for my daughter. ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES!. It's a much smaller place and they seem to share it with half a dozen mini-vans. The buses have no organised parking and shuffle around for space. The mini-vans are parked everywhere and dropping passengers in the middle of the road. Parking for cars is abysmal and quite a challenge to get out.
There was a long queue at the one ticket window. Dealing with each customer takes an age. That and the hassle of getting through the Hua Hin traffic to get there and return is not an enjoyable experience.
I've booked in it's previous location which has never taken more than a couple of minutes. The parking was more than adequate for taking passengers and meeting them arriving from the airport.
One huge step backwards leaving customers with a nasty taste and quite verbal in their disapproval.

Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
Im guessing that the old bus station has been sold off to developers and will be a new condominium soon,..prime real estate site
Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
I think all other buses are using the old bus station as normal. I don't know, but I'd guess it was the usual Thai story. Business does well, so rent is increased accordingly. However information is very sketchy as usual leaving people to draw their own conclusions.

All I know is we have a relative arriving today from up north and they arrive at the old terminal, as such it is my assumption that the existing terminal is continuing to service north and south journeys.

Yes, it's only the airport service that has moved. Why? Who knows!

Re: Hua Hin bus station relocating?
I had to go to MV this morning so I swung through the bus station and the VIP ticket window was shut down. It's a pain in the arse for me but I'll live.

I've just dropped someone off for the airport bus at the new location and there was no problem buying a ticket, same as before so there might have been some teething problems yesterday. There isn't much parking inside but plenty along the main road to the south.
For me personally, it's an improvement as the bus had to go through the town center and then the person picking me up had to do the same just to go back through again on the way home which is not doing much to improve the traffic problem in town.

Maybe it was just 1st day problems. We stood in the queue for a good 20 mins. It was absolute chaos. However I'll see what it's like when I drop my daughter off on Monday.
