Nereus had the usual problem with the Bangkok Post in copying and pasting an article. They cut you off after a sentence or two with their copyright warning. If using Firefox, when you open an article you'll see the below document icon on your toolbar, click that and the article will change to "reader's view" and then no problem copying what you want, crediting the Post with the link which is the proper thing to do. I don't think Chrome and Opera have this, but only Firefox. Open for correction. Pete
Edit: I have a "walnut skin" that you see in the attachment. Regardless of skin you use, you'll see the document icon up at the top somewhere.

Re: Browser Reader's View
I am using Microsoft Edge, the default browser. It has not happened for a long time, but with that post, after posting the headline and the Bangkok Post url, it comes up with "website not responding", or words to that effect.
I always copy the Bangkok Post address before trying to copy the rest of it and usually it copies some of it along with the notice to "please acknowledge".
I think Bristolian found a way around it, but as I never made a note of his post I cannot try it.

Disabling JavaScript will defeat that limitation in every browser.
Opera (and 2 other browsers I tried) had no copy problems, even with JavaScript enabled. It turned out that their built in ad blockers solved the issue transparently.

BP provides a button to print the article. If you click to print the article a new window opens and you can copy whatever you like from this window without issue.Nereus wrote:I think Bristolian found a way around it, but as I never made a note of his post I cannot try it.

I need to do a lot of online research for work so one way of getting rid of what has now become downright intrustive video advertising on some news websites is to use the reader view.
Here it is for Chrome (Firefox is built in):

Just make sure you know/remember how to temporarily disable your adblocker, as some useful legit sites that rely on ad revenue won't work if they detect one. I use free Adblocker Ultimate, it has an icon in the toolbar for easy control.
Another subject, I can't access my online Kbank account with Chrome but only with Firefox. Chrome will let me into the Kbank site and enter log/password but then I get an error message from Kbank (in Thai). Kbank don't seem to have a clue what to do. I cleared my browser cache and disable the adblocker. No joy. Weird.

Kbank works fine with Chrome for me so it probably is some third party blocker or something you're using hindering it.404cameljockey wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 10:06 pm Another subject, I can't access my online Kbank account with Chrome but only with Firefox.

Thanks. With all Chrome extensions disabled and cache completely cleared it doesn't work. But with your encouragement I experimented and disabled my 3rd party anti-virus software and it works. Completely weird seeing as Firefox doesn't spit the dummy. :/buksida wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 10:07 pmLike this one?

Needless to say I won't be using Chrome to check my account....
