"Samsung has urged owners of its Galaxy Note 7 phones to stop using or exchange the devices as they risk exploding.
Samsung recalled 2.5 million phones last week after reports emerged of the device exploding during or after charging.
And airline passengers were warned by US authorities not to switch on or charge the phones while on board.
The South Korean company said it would replace all devices that were handed in from 19 September.".....

There have been reports of a couple of Iphone 7s exploding also... have the companies pushed battery technology too far?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Samsung urges Galaxy Note 7 phone exchange urgently
Yes I am sure an I Phone 7 exploded. At least that's what the story "planted" by Samsung would want you to believe... good one Samsung...

Re: Samsung urges Galaxy Note 7 phone exchange urgently
There's been one confirmed instance of an IPhone 7 arriving in the mail and the box and phone had been partially crushed in transit, and the phone was leaking acid and stained. The other accounts I've read (and there are several) clearly state the stories are "unsubstantiated". If someone finds others that are substantiated, please post. Pete

Galaxy Note 7 fires likely caused by 'super-aggressive manufacturing process'
......"In a nutshell, here's the problem:
Manufacturers want to make their devices as thin as possible
That means making the batteries thinner
The thinner a lithium-ion battery, the less electrolytic separator there is keeping the lithium cobalt oxide anode from coming into contact with the graphite cathode
Physical stress, either from being in a pocket or from heat build up (either environmental or from charging), can deform the battery, potentially causing the anode and cathode to come into contact
If the anode and cathode come together, then you have problems (in the form of fires and potential explosions)".....
