Nursery in Hua Hin for a 2 year old
Nursery in Hua Hin for a 2 year old
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Have heard of a place called Pattana out near Hin Nam Sai Suay, its 2,500 per month (+500 for pickup service). Does anyone send their kids there? Any experiences or other recommendations would be much appreciated.

Buksida,
That's where my little boy goes. It's his 2nd year there, now. He's in K2. He didn't go to nursery there, he went to one on Naebkahard near the palace. I was really disgusted by what they did there - basically just watch TV and sing.
I can't speak for the nursery part of Pratthana, but since he started the kindergarten he's done loads of arts & crafts, learnt his numbers, the Thai & English alphabets (recognition & writing) He can write Thai (how much I'm not sure, as I can't read it! ) He is very happy there & I find the teachers very supportive. They have at least 2 "parents evenings" a year where you discuss your child's progress & if you have a particular problem to discuss, you just go along & they'll give you as much time as you need to talk it out with them. I'm very happy with them, which is why I've kept him there, for now, rather than put him into "big school"

Yes my nipper goes to the same school. they seem very nice but almost seem to want to please the parents rather than teach the children. But it is probably the best around HH
Thats me Im on my way to luxury
Prattana Kindergarten
My 1/2 year old boy has been going there for about a year now & is always eager to get in the car each morning, as he really likes the place. The teachers are friendly & some speak a little English. The owner got a PhD from a college in Kentucky so he speaks it well.
We plan to keep our kid there for as long as possible, adding to it with some home teaching. After that? Well there are some signs that a quasi 'International' primary school might be available soon, judging by a leaflet I was handed at Market Village. However, secondary school will almost certainly be boarding, as I don't expect the HH education scene to improve that much!

Troopie,
Could you pm me with the details (whatever you have) of this primary school, please? I can only keep littl'un at Pratthana for 1 more year, max & I don't know where is best for him after that. I'd like to know what all the available options are.
Thanks

I know their just kids and this kind of stuff happens but my daughter came back from there Pratthuna, by the Hin Nam with a few bite marks.
Overall I was just I was Ok with the place because it was the best choice. But I'm glad at this point I don't have to trust them anymore.

Yeah, my kid has come home with a few scars as well. However, I try to bear in mind that:Big A wrote:I know their just kids and this kind of stuff happens but my daughter came back from there Pratthuna, by the Hin Nam with a few bite marks.

(a) he's a boy, & so scars are part of life for him;
(b) he might come home with a lot worse from a UK nursery -- at least there are a lot less pervos, molesters, & bullies, etc!
All in all, I'd rather he got the scars now -- & learned from them -- than later on. If that sounds non-PC, then thank you -- I am proud to be as non-PC as it is possible to be. At least if he falls over at home & gains a bruise, my home won't be invaded by an army of social workers all intent on calling me an abuser!
Summary: Yes, he does get hurt now & then at that place, but for me, that's all part of his frowing up experience. OK?
