The restaurant next to the petrol station on Soi 94 which has been under going alterations is ready to open. It has a menu outside and the name sign has been erected. It's called Cafe Mekong and states since 2010, is it possibly Mekong Cafe from adjacent to MV which closed recently ? I was on my bike so didn't stop to investigate further.

Funny... normally a restaurant closes they put a sign on the old one saying where the new one is or that they have moved... otherwise how the heck are we supposed to know !!

Good point - don't know why they didn't but also changed name from Mekong Cafe to Cafe Mekong.

Lins Cafe Closed, Finished

Post by dragonseeker »

Walked past Lins cafe three days ago and noticed it was being gutted. Has been closed ever since and word from two sources now says. Finished. Another victim of the low season. Sad.

On the main road near Soi 80. Had big fried Falang breakfasts. Original Lin from Blackpool long since gone but has been operating for at least three years.

Nothing to do with any low season, just a lack of patrons and ownership that made no real effort

Lins Cafe are looking for new premises, the current landlord wanted a substantial hike in the rent and Lins tried to negotiate, the landlord said pay the new rent price or get out, so they left.

So which of the 2 will survive. Was only there about 2 weeks ago and ate at Natcha. Will be a shame if one or even both go as they have been there for a long time and both do excellent food. Moon Smile seemed to be the busiest when we were there
