Most of what you see on the market are 'toy' grade. The battery limits flights to about 5 minutes if you're lucky and a slight breeze can blow them away. .. Get into 'hobby' grade and it starts getting expensive. Those machines are also a lot more powerful and dangerous.

If people stick to flying them out in the countryside, in the same way that people have flown model aircraft for decades, I've got nothing against it whatsoever. It's when someone starts flying them over my house with a camera in it that I'll get into building a radio jammer!

I do have a drone (2 actually). The main issue is people acting irresponsibly: flying above crowds, in no fly zones such as airports, or way above 450 feet, etc. There will probably be some kind of regulation soon enough. What will be in it remains a great mystery (back in January, something was expected in... February) and I am guessing it will target private users first.

For now, let's just enjoy (responsibly) our freedom

Ok, the new wave of Drone Tech is here!

I put my hand in my pocket and along came....

It's a powerful beast, 6 motors and capable of self-rescue if one of them fails.

Gimbal Issues were dealt with and a few test flights went ok, no bad crashes etc. Camera used is the Ilook which seems superior than the GoPro!

First test flights took part indoors!

Had to abandon this flight though, winds were getting above 25 mph!

Not wishing to be disrespectful, but your teething problems really puts JJB's video in the OP into perspective. I must admit that I'd been tempted to buy one until Thailand started to threaten restrictions. JJB made it look easy, but I guess you're showing us the reality.

Very interesting though.

Patience and practise, BB, as is so often the case. Rider's Walkera should be able to produce some good stuff, I would have liked one myself as the specs are great, so perhaps some settings are off or something isn't calibrated accurately, it's hard to tell.

After a year with my Phantom 2, I just upgraded to the new Phantom 3 with 4K camera and superior hardware. The 2 was donated to my brother-in-law who is based in Plymouth so who knows what you'll be seeing soon!

Well, with so much to worry about here at the moment - genuine and otherwise - I spent a couple of days this week creating a short film celebrating so much that is good about Hua Hin. While the UAV ban is still being signed off I took the opportunity to get the craft in the air and, who knows, you might even be able to see your house from up here!

Switch to HD and enjoy.
