Claire and John here. We've just got back from a couple of weeks in Hua Hin looking for an investment/holiday/retirement home. We love the place, the social life and the people (not to mention the food), but not the alarming things we've read about the risks of buying in Thailand. The posts on the property section here have been useful but head spinning - we soldier on!

As Jamie says; welcome to the board.
About the risks of buying a house here; after 3 years of living here in Hua Hin I'm still hunting high and low to find all the risks and pitfalls, but in vain so far.
Will let you know when I find them but I'm maybe too stupid to figure it out.
