Unsafe at any speed

Post by Frank Hovis »

I was stopped in the queue at the police checkpoint on the bypass before the Cha-Am turnoff. In front of me was this truck with it's load slipping off to the side. As we approached the police I saw a portly officer put both hands out to each side with one higher than the other indicating the lean of the truck and getting his chums to look at how the truck was leaning to the nearside. I was quietly confident they would pull it over but (something about the order of pride in relation to a fall) no, they waved it on with a laugh. I got waved through too while they were still looking and laughing at the truck and as we left the checkpoint my wife took this photo.
I can only imagine what motorcyclists on the hard shoulder must have thought when that skimmed the top of their heads.

Perhaps we could use this thread for photos of other 'vehicles' likely to add to the daily death toll (no need for pictures of stock Fortuners or Mercedes, modified ones are OK)

555!..it looks as if under that sheet he may be loaded with big-bags of drink-cans on their way for recycling, with paper on the bottom..anyway, the sheet is the star of the show here..it's doing a crackin' job keeping things (almost) in place..

Don't you think it looks a bit like an elephant US?

The only consolation is it's slipping to the near side - no consolation for bikers though. I'm not sure whether to scream or weep at the attitude of the MIB, so I'm afraid it has to be another 'TIT'.
