Snorkeling trip to Koh Singto, Koh Tao and Koh Nok
Snorkeling trip to Koh Singto, Koh Tao and Koh Nok
Hello guys,
We (a group) are planning to go for this snorkeling trip when we stay in Hua Hin in Sep.
Wanted to know:
- if it is the right time to go for this trip?
- is there a good travel/tour person near Liab Wang Road who can help us getting this arranged for us?
- is it better to go for this trip or should we go to Talu Island?
Any other helpful information in this regard would be helpful.
Thanks.

You might want to consider a couple days down in Bang Saphan, although I know there are periods of the year when the water, even there, is too cloudy. Have a look on our sister site http://www.bangsaphanguide.com/ for a bit more information.

Thanks Big boy, looking at the site. Had one question - can't we go on these trips from Hua Hin as we are not planning to stay in Bang Saphan?
Re: Snorkeling trip to Koh Singto, Koh Tao and Koh Nok
It would be possible to do it in a day, but it would be a very long day. It's probably about 3 hours drive each way, and when you add time for finding a boat, and your time snorkeling, you're going to be absolutely knackered. The site I pointed you towards has a wide (cost) range of accomodation, and it is possible to stay overnight on a budget if required.

sidban, it's possible, but just like BigBoy said, it's a long day. You will need to leave at about 6 a.m. from Hua Hin and then you will have some time for snorkelling and sun bathing at Ko Talu before returning to Hua Hin at around 8-9 p.m. There are travel agencies in Hua Hin, which can organize this. If you have your own transportation, it's better to book the boat trip from Bang Saphan in advance.

We used to go to Bangsapan regularly for day trips, you need to leave at around 6.30am and its just over 2 hours drive. We hired a local boat with a guy who new ezcatly where to go, there are 2 island - Kho Talu and a smaller one a little south, the smaller one is better, after about 3pm Barrcuda used to come in on the north side (some big buggers which my mate used to shoot!). If the water is ok its a great day out. Would recommend staying the night and taking anything you catch to a local restaurant and have them cook it up for you (if your looking t catch anythng obviuosly!). Its been a while and I will have to hunt tyhe guides name out for you.

We go there regularly with quite large groups of Students. I would also recommend an overnight stay there is lots of accommodation available. I have never booked rooms or boats in advance. Most of the accommodation is along the beach between Bang Saphan and Bang Saphan Noi, follow the road South (3374) from Bang Saphan and you will see many advertising boards for accommodation. Prices range from 300 Bhat for a hut on the beach to about 5500 at the Coral Beach Hotel. There are lots of bungalows for rent on the beach just south of Coral Beach Hotel. Check Google Earth.
Go to the harbour to book a boat try Suchat Boat Tours Tel 01 7594997 or 032-699455.
Its a great day out with lots to see if the water is clear.

Personally, I'm not a snorkeller, but I've I've read a lot of posts on this forum which state the nearest place is Bang Saphan.

I have heard that there is an island off Prachuab town with a small reef, haven't been there though so can't confirm it.
