There has unfortunately been a lot of bad publicity lately regarding the Hua Hin pool league and I feel a more positive perspective would not be inappropriate:
Founded in 2002 it started off with 12 bars which has now doubled in numbers to 24 bars.
Well over 100 people participate every week.
Nearly everyone enjoys themselves, win lose or draw.
The league is a melting pot of all nationalities from America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The leagues and cups have always been excellently organised and continue to be.
The bar owners provide excellent free food to all participants
There are all levels of skill. No one is ever made to feel foolish for playing bad and great play is applauded
The competition is a mixture of standards. Everyone plays to win and the league structure enables teams to compete with other teams at a similar level

In summary, the pool league is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL event in Hua Hin, organised well by both Ferang and Thais. Long may it continue.
My point is...someone must be doing something right!
