Hi gang, I’m new to the group, and glad to have found you.
I am an American citizen, sixty years old, and meet the financial requirements for retirement. I’ve just moved from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin. I started the retirement visa process in Chiang Mai, and recieved my Non-O status on 3 April. My 90 day report date is 1 July. I have two concerns. will I have a problem continuing the retirement process now that I’ve moved to Hua Hin? And, since I will be living in the home of a German friend and his Thai partner when my 90-day reporting comes up, and not actually renting a place, How will that effect the process?
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you folks may be able to offer.
Thanks much, Jonathan

You should get down to immigration and declare your new address as soon as you can. It will probably be useful to have some evidence to take with you, even one of your hosts, if a Thai.

Your hosts have a legal obligation to register you at their address as well. Should have done it the day you arrived, so say you've arrived in Hua Hin on the day you go.

Are there any reliable dedicated visa agents here in Hua Hin?
Google is bringing back law firms that offer visa services, as opposed to visa specialists like Assist Thai Visa in Chiang Mai.
Thanks in advance.

Chiang Mai immigration is a nightmare. One of the worst in the country. So I understand why you think you need an agent. However, HH immigration is one of the best in the country. Relaxed and reasonable officers, with a much smaller crowd of applicants. You can do it all by yourself without an agent here and even sort of enjoy the process

I would totally agree - things are pretty relaxed in Hua Hin, the queues are usually small and there's no real need to use an agent here.moater wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 9:26 am Chiang Mai immigration is a nightmare.
