We're two Canadians moving to Hua Hin for a few months. Canadians do not need a visa for a 30 day or less visit. I understood we can just leave the country one a month, get out passports stamped and then return and thus not be in violation of Thai law, etc.... Will that work for us?
The requirements for longer visas, etc...seem prohibitive and tedious.
Cheers
Steve
Canadians with no visa; can we just pop out of the country and pop back in?

The 30 day visa exempt stamp is extendable at Immigration in Hua Hin once for a further 30 days. Cost is 1,900 THB.
After that, you can exit and re-enter by land and get a new 30 day visa exempt stamp (that can be extended as before). Note, you can only exit and re-enter by land twice in any year.

Its called a Visa Run and I think is limited to 2 times.

Actually, to be pedantic, it's actually a border run because no visa is being applied for.
There is supposedly no limit to the number of times you can do a visa run (to get a tourist or non O visa) but in reality the individual Embassies and consulates will pull you at some stage if you keep doing it and will probably put a "no more visas from ....." in your passport after giving you the last one. There's nothing to stop you starting to use another mission afterwards.
