New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport
Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
This thread has been up, down and all around. Initially Blueport was to be a Thai passport office, now we see the photo HHTel posted saying Immigration. On top of that there is a new building being built for Immigration so I would imagine if this is Immigration in Blueport, it is temporary until the new building opens? Stay tuned..... Pete

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I've always seen the Bluport office for those who can't get out into the wilderness to the new office.
I would guess (definitely don't know) that Bluport will be pushing for this office at reduced or no rent to get people into the store.

Peppercorn rent or free is normally the rule for officialdom, so I am told.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
Just noticed that in the picture the strip across the shop front says"One Stop Service". I wonder what that implies. And why would anyone who doesn't live near the new office trek all the way out there if they can more easily go to Bluport?
Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I'm told by one of the immigration officers that it's for 90 day reporting. I couldn't say that source is reliable even if he does work at immigration. Not sure if they really know what's happening until it happens.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I was at Immigration last week and asked about the new office. The answer I was given was that Blueport was for 90 day and tourist reporting but 1 year/retirement etc would be handled in the new building. I don't have my own transport and am not looking forward to the trek out there.

If this is true, the 'One Stop Service' claim is wrong, but hey, TIT.londongeorge wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 7:34 am The answer I was given was that Blueport was for 90 day and tourist reporting but 1 year/retirement etc would be handled in the new building.

I don't know what it implies but there's also a sign saying that at the current immigration office. I think I've seen it in post offices and banks as well.

Every public office in Thailand is "One stop service". You just have to pay enough! 555!

No. Not yet. will take some more weeks.
Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I went and had a look earlier. The ticket machine to the left of the entrance is blazing away brightly, there are 3 desks set up at the end of the office, unsurprisingly marked, 1,2 & 3 and there are a load of visitors seats waiting to be put together, so certainly getting there. It's in the banking zone, which I guess is expedient, at the Petchkasem Road end of the basement.

Can someone really confirm that the Bluport office only will be for 90 days reporting, or can they perform other services too?

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I asked about Blueport when I did my 90 days a couple of weeks ago and was told it was only for tourist extensions and 90 days. Annual visas, retirement/O/B/ etc were going to be handled at the new "Jungle Outpost". But I think we will not know for sure until they move.
Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office
I've been told the Bluport Office should open on 9th May.
