A few years ago they could take your photo at (outside) Immigrations. Guess they still do but not sure. There's of course a small fee for the photo.

Yes, they still have a photo business going on. It's probably not a bad idea I suppose given that huge numbers of farang always forget photos, as they also do with getting the forms straight.
My opinion (not scientific  ) is that about 70% of the long queues are because of farang screwing up in their paper work (thus making everyone else wait while they attempt to get it right), rather than the Thai immigration having lousy processes.
While waiting for my call-up, I often do people-watching. Man, some of these farang look absolutely clueless about why they're even there in the first place. Think: deers-in-headlights.

Regarding the photos: much cheaper to go to a Kodak store beforehand. Lots of them in Hua Hin.

PS ... I've lived in Hua Hin for 10 years now and never had a problem with motocy taxi drivers.
Guess you got a lemon. Shit happens.

I was there on Tuesday. FWIW, sign on the outside says 90-day, re-entry and tourist visa extensions. Queue ticket dispenser inside has 2 buttons. Pretty sure one said 90 day & re-entry

https://www.google.co.th/maps/place/Imm ... 0025?hl=en

For petes sake ... grab a motorcycle taxi (the dudes in the orange vests. On many corners ... they're everywhere). He'll take you to the Immigration office and if you ask he'll wait for you to finish your business then take you to where you are staying. Cheap!
What's not cheap is the extension fee at 1900 baht. Don't forget that.

Well well there's the answer to Kangaroo's question. Looks like tourist visa extensions are provided at BluPort.

Thanks for confirming! I'll go there then this week on Tuesday

It's quite surprising to me that people were skeptical about it, since I said that Blueport itself was supposed to be doing extensions and provided even a link.

Nevertheless, thanks for the info!!! awesome

Glad you don't have to go too far. However, please lets not get too precious about it.
Originally the BluPort office on first opening did not issue extensions. I asked specifically whether they did, and the answer was 'no'.
Now that was two and a half months ago. In the meantime it looks like they have added some processes since then. Good.
Frankly, after all this time I'm surprised you haven't gone to BluPort yourself to find out.

Imagine how useful that would have been if included in your post saying tourist visas could not be extended at Bluport.

I think it depends on what exactly you ask. If you asked them if they could do one-year extensions they would say 'no' because they don't and never did but from the very outset that were always supposed to do tourist visa extensions and always did, as far as I am aware. They had the TM7 extension of stay forms from day one, which is why I asked them if they could do one-year extensions. They told me 'no' but I didn't ask them about tourist visa extensions as I don't have a tourist visa.

All the early announcements and reports that I saw, said they would do tourist visa extensions. The sign that they put up - right at the beginning as far as I know, also said that.

Arrived Blue Port, maybe 10,20,ticket number 001,3 free desks,,,,,,buzzed to the third desk, one female/2 males, was greeted with,"Good morning how are you",handed over passport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,young lady entered details into screen in front of her, stamped the pile of forms on her desk for next entry,,,,,, my name/nationality/and advised me i had to return on such a date.handed me my passport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,followed by "Have a nice day",,,,,,,,,can it get any better???
I think many people have criticized the system ,including me,but this the first time i have done a 90 day report for a long time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,only comment,,,,,,,,,,very impressed.

Did my first 90 day report at Blueport today. I've always said that the main immigration office is very efficient. My experience at Blueport today was 'super-efficient'. I reckon that between walking in and walking out was no more than 2 mins. Didn't even stop to take a queue ticket as I was waved straight to the desk. Took longer to cross the road! Passport only. A few keystrokes and the new notification was printed off and attached to my passport. "Thank you." All done!

Why can't it be done this way at the main office in Hua Hin? Maybe they post the best officers at Bluport?

And maybe it is because that is all they have to deal with, as opposed to an endless stream of Farangs arriving with incorrect paperwork and bad attitudes at the main office!

I renewed my 1 year extension at the main office just last week in a total of 20 minutes from walking in to walking out, including the 90 day which was not even due!

The biggest problem was negotiating the SAS inspired obstacle course from the parking area.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
