24 hour immigration report back requirement?

II have the one-year retirement visa that´s normally renewed every year. It´s a multiple entry visa.
Is there still a requirement that I must report to Thai Immigrations upon my return to Hua Hin after having been out of the country and if so, what is the deadline for reporting?

By the strict letter of the law you have to report within 24 hours of your return.
In practice, not many people do. I never have and Imm can easily see that I've traveled. The regulation is one that has remained on the statute books from the distant past but has never been cancelled.

I did my normal 24 hour reporting on my return in August and was told by immigration it is not required.

I was told the same by immigration so I don't do it any more.

On another point, when I recently did my 90 day report, I asked about the on line reporting system. The guy just shrugged and said "Up to you if you want to try it but it doesn't work very well".

Welcome to Hua Hin..if you do not know by now you have to 'report' to HH Immigration & inform them of...
...well, pretty much everything!
I rolled up today at about 1.00, got given the wrong form to fill in, THEN got asked why did I not bring the 'house book'?
(Because I was not friggin' aware of any of this)
So then the upshot of today is..
a) The meet & greet lady could hardly speak any English.
b) The lady at the photo-copier had a way better command of the English language..& should of been sat at the info desk.
c) If I had not (later this afternoon) taken my Thai wife along to help matters I'm sure I'd have gone over the 24hrs!
d) After photocopying my passport, the house book, the (correct) filled-in form relevant to this event, wife's ID, TWO forms
my wife had to fill in (1 with all the same Q's & info I'd just submitted on my form), plus about 4 lots of signatures
I FINALLY was given my passport back & a nice smile & a wai for being patient.

Now I'm sorry for ranting on about this a little, & yes I DO realise I am a guest here, so should feel humble somewhat..
...But the whole damn place was a state of confussion..IMO due to lack of info given out to folk PRIOR to going there.

As a footnote over the last week I have asked all the Westerners I've met who've just arrived about the subject of their hotel/guesthouse now lawfully having to inform them of the 24 hr reporting..yep..not one farang had been told.
Nor do I know what relevant forms, documents etc you must submit if you're staying at a hotel/GH..??

Arrived back at Suvarnabhumi on wednesday lunch time,explained to immigration that i would be departing again on friday, asked whats the situation about 24 reporting? Was informed,,,,,,,,,,,,,"not necessary,we have all your details here".
Departed friday lunch time,immigration extremely quiet,therefore took the opportunity to chat with an officer who spoke reasonable English.Mentioned the 24hour reporting,he informed me that it is not necessary,and that if there was a problem it would have shown up on the computor.I have personally never done a 24 hour report,even spending 8/10 weeks in HH at a time.Obviously TIT ,but when i return again,i do not intend to report my presence back in HH within 24 hours,hopefully nothing will have altered.My visa is a multi-entry retirement visa.

I have posted this previously some time ago.
According to my Lawyer the 24 hr reporting applies to migrant workers, such as Burmese, Cambodians, etc.

The best thing to do is just ignore it, not go and put yourself through what happened to usual suspect!

Hua Hin Immigration had me on 24 hour reporting some 10-12 years ago. 10 overseas trips a year had me inconveniently rushing to Hua Hin after each arrival for Immigration to staple into my passport a piece of paper that nobody cared about or looked at. Also, the 24 hour report was purely arbitrary: Why me and not you? So a few years ago I decided to renew the retirement visa in Bangkok which didn't require a 24 hour report. Then two years ago I switched back to Hua Hin which didn't ask me for a 24 hour report even though I'm still a frequent traveller. I was last at Hua Hin Immigration in March 2016 and all that was mentioned was the 90 day reporting. I wouldn't tempt fate by asking about the 24 hour report. Just keep quiet until they mention it.

I have asked as am also a frequent traveler. Immigration advised 24 hour reporting is NOT required, all that is required is to keep count of your days in Thailand and report at a total of 90 days

I have never done the 24 Hour reporting and never intend doing so.

I said I'd report back on my visa extension after recently just coming back from Cambodia without doing my report.

First thing I'll say is I think I must have achieved some sort of world record. From entering my bank when it opened in Market Village at 11:00 to obtain my finance letter, I was driving to The Baguette to meet my son for lunch, everything completed at 11:59.

The guy went through my details several times as they always do, and he even put a 90 day report slip into passport, saving me the job of counting 90 from re-entering the country. There was no mention of any need for 24 hour reporting.

Can those who listen to bar stool "experts" please stop clogging up the queue at immigration along with those that don't fill in the right applications and/or turn up with the wrong paperwork and then proceed to stand over the officer sweating profusely in their beer chang vests and waving their arms in an agitated fashion whilst shouting.

When I did mine 2 weeks ago. The very friendly guy in immigration said to my wife that she must report me within 24 hours of returning to Thailand (we had been to KL a couple of weeks earlier).

He didn't make a big deal of it just said in future she (not me) needed to report anyone staying at her house (non Thai) within 24 hours of their arrival.

She of course has no intention of doing this except possibly next year before my extension is due again (I never do 90 day reports as I go back to the UK to watch Norwich every 3 months).

He also asked me to fill the new information sheet in, which I did. He said I was the first one!Seemed a load of cobblers to me but was happy to oblige.
