Post by miked »

Hi all,
First time using this forum so will be brief.
Coming to live in or around Hua Hin with my Thai wife. If i work i understand that i will be taxed on earning 50,000 baht a month, even if i am not earning this much. How much tax will i pay.? If i decide not to work will they still try and get some tax from me.
Hope you can help

Welcome to the board,
Yes the minimum wage for a foreigner with a work permit is 50k (regardless of what you actually get). You will be taxed on 50k. The amount works out to roughly a months salary so expaect to pay around 50k per year. I have to pay it in the next week or so, I'll let you know how it goes.

You'll get discounts if you have a marriage certificate, children or an insurance policy for your family.
