I don't do them but as far as I know Ranong is the closest. Mags runs a minibus service twice a month down there for expats, you can contact her for details on hhexpat@hotmail.com

Does this still hold true ?

I have decided to do the visa run 'myself' this time and have one coming up in a couple of weeks.

Hi and welcome to the board,
Most of the expats that live in Hua Hin are on tourist visas (30 days). You must leave the country every month to re-new it. The visa run is a trip down to Ranong to re-new the visa on the Burmese side.

You can't get any kind of visa there as there is no embassy or consulate. What you get is a month long visa free stamp or if you already have a valid visa you'll get 2-3 months according to you visa type. The trip should be around 6 hours one way. The Burmese stamp costs you five dollars.

FOr people based in Bangkok, I think Jack's Golf is a good Visa Run Service, reliable and comfortable Bus, nice service and OK price

2000 Baht for the trip to Aranyaprathet (Poi Pet on teh Cambodian Side) including lunch in one of the Casino Hotels and all the Cambodian Visa Fees (which alone are 1000 Baht if you go by yourself).

Departs daily between 06:20 and 07:00 depending on where you are located, see the website for details.
