Rainy season usually starts in May/June but the heaviest rains usually fall in September/October. Hua Hin is one of the driest places in LOS and some years we get hardly any rain.

Is there rains usually in August??

I'd like to get some tan instead of getting wet :?

There is always a good chance of rain during August and the weather is starting to cool off from the intense heat of the preceeding months ...

Actually it's one of my 'fave' months of the year still hot but with a refreshing break from time to time.

My Way, the months May thru October are considered low season in Thailand BECAUSE of the heat/humidity and rain ...

My Way,
A typical wet season day will start bright and sunny, slowly clouding over in the mid afternoon with an hour or so belting rain in the early evening when most decent folk are safely in a bar having sundowners. You'll see a lot of sunshine any time of the year.

The only place I've ever known it to be totally grey day after day for any length of time is in Ranong province and that was only for 3 days.

You think Ranong is bad, Last low season on Koh Tao I've seen weeks of grey brooding monsoon skys with all the trappings :(

It was that bad at one point almost all the boats stopped running and falangs (tourist) were evacuated by a navy ship!

But hopefully it'll be good this time around. :)
