Big Dog Problem Down 114

Post by GLCQuantum »

Hello again,

Over the past 6 months, the soi dog issue down 112, 114 and 116 has become ridiculous. Same old story - people feed them and think that they are doing a 'nice thing'. The result of feeding them and not actually taking care of them is... they multiply into hundreds of soi dogs.

Who'd 'av thunk it... :banghead:

I remember that there was a number for a dog 'patrol' a few years ago yet, after searching, I can't find it.

I'm really against poisoning dogs as it's believed to be quite a painful death but ...if nothing is done, given that the dogs are soon to cause a road collision (again) I have no other choice.

If there is a number to have them taken away or if there is a way to put them down 'humanely'... please post to let me know how.

Thanks in advance.

I don't agree. I currently live in that area and think there is less dogs now than last year. And what's the problem? They do no harm. I really don't understand.

When I first started coming to Hua Hin in the early nineties the biggest downside was the large number of dogs that roamed the beach. They were very aggressive and would attack without warning.
Whoever got rid of them deserves a pat on the back, however, they have returned. They seem to belong to the beach boys and umbrella vendors.
The quicker they are gone the better for everyone, a job for the Hua Hin City Council.
I have nothing but sympathy for those living in Sois 102 etc.

poison sounds cool. it takes a while for them to die. maybe a video for youtube as many serial killers start their careers killing animals they might like to watch. Lets hope some super poor dog eating people from like Myanmar don't make lunch out of all these poisoned dead dogs, that could be a real proplem. hahahaha.

maybe you could rig up some kind of high voltage plate and electrocute them. make them jump around for a while. maybe the other dogs will learn their lesson by watching. dogs are smart.

this would be fun. run them down with a old car, crush their legs or maybe a clean shot and crush their chest. sort of like going over a speed bump. hahahaha.

wait, you can kill two birds with one stone. catch a wild cat and rig it with a large skyrocket, and just as the dog bites down on the cats head, you set off the rocket and blow both the cat and dog to bits. maybe like just a leg or something would be blown off and they would try to crawl away. cool! hahahaha.

and how about just pouring some gasoline on the street, and when they walk through it, you set them on fire so they all burn to death. dogs on fire running all over screaming in agony. another cool video for youtube.

ok, dig a big pit and put bamboo spikes on the bottom and cover it over. when the dogs walk over the cover they fall on the spikes. well, digging a pit is a lot of work, but i think it will be worth it.

maybe you could pay a Thai cop and borrow his gun. I see them packing 45 automatics. you could make dum dum ammo and with a piece of meat get the dog to come over and BAM! Shoot it right between the eyes and blow its head right off.

get a scooter and a bamboo spear. hahahaha. and with practice, maybe you could nail two dogs at once.

and don't forget a simple baseball bat for the puppies. smash their brains out. otherwise six months from now you will have to do it all over again.

I'll tell ya, I think Thailand has the dumbest expat community in the world by far.
The vast majority of foreigners here just adopt the Thai way of doing things and nothing changes for the better, it really is astonishing sometimes.
Don't hurt the animal, Don't hurt the bug etc. give me a break.
So a person is suppose to get eaten alive by bugs because it's not right to hurt bugs in Thailand, crazy.

I'd have suggested certain other "buttons", but I won't go there.....

Hmm. I thought James wrote tongue in cheek, being satirical about the OP's poison suggestion.

James was being satirical.....synonyms: mocking, ironic, satiric, sarcastic, derisive, ridiculing, taunting; to name but a few. In taking it that way i thought it was a very funny post

Contact the Tessaban (032 532 433) and talk to the Public Health and Environment Division. They collect and move stray dogs to the HH Dog Shelter.
