Tom
Here I am trying as hard as I can to get back over there ( permanently this time ) and you're coming here to ( I will brag a bit ) and say beautiful North Carolina. As they say.. I'm Tar Heel born and Tar Heel Bred... and when I die I'll be Tar Heel dead. It is a wonderful place to live.. I'm moving back to Thailand for some "personal reasons ".
Enjoyed our lunch this summer downtown there. You were going to be my contact in Hua Hin for my transition to becoming an Ex Pat. Hopefully, some other old broken down soldier there in Hua Hin will pick me up.. Best of luck on the move.. They are excruciatingly "painful "

I certainly can't blame you for moving back to the U.S. hhfarang, the U.S. is a lot cleaner and more organized than Thailand and easier to buy the things you need/want.
Good Luck.

Best of luck on the move HHFarang. Hope it goes as smoothly as possible. Make sure to keep posting here nevertheless.
Re: Moving back to home country after living in Thailand
Sorry to see you go but I have the same concerns. So far I am doing a 50/50 now between the US Midwest and here. Best of both worlds. It is on the expensive side maintaining two residences, two cars etc. I bought a nice duplex in the U.S. for about 5M baht. I rent out half.
I originally moved here to save money but it costs me about the same to live on each side.
My Thai wife would never live full time in the U.S. Too cold and no good Som Tom.

All the best with the move. I came back to the UK after nearly 6 years in HH and haven't regretted a moment of it. Nice to have the four seasons and not the incessant heat and feel I can be a lot more active now. Not missing noisy neighbours, soi dogs, needless bureaucracy & red tape, visa runs or stinky fermented fish.
I'll be back for a holiday but just not too soon.

hhfarang Sorry to hear that you are leaving HH but it seems over the last few years you have not been happy with Thailand.
I hope you find life back in the US better than you did in Thailand.
Good luck mowing that lawn and please keep in touch with the forum.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

^ Yeah, I was leaning towards another house because of that hill but the missus liked this one so much that she said she'd mow the lawn, and having been married to her for 20 years I know she meant it!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
