:D

iPad back in hands, undamaged. It's been completely wiped so just trying to see how much I can restore from iCloud. If I can't restore anything - nevermind. The final policeman I dealt with today was brilliant. Much different to the first lot.

Case closed. :D

Just curious if you had to pay the police or give any rewards?

I offered him a few thousand baht, but he (the guy that got off his arse and did something) didn't want it. He did ,however, want a photo of me proudly holding my pink iPad with himself stood next to me, but I think that's standard procedure. I could say that he never gave it to me otherwise.

My iPad screen said last that the restore time (from iCloud) is gonna be roughly 10 hours. Crappy internet I suppose. When I get home I'll have a look. If it's still at 10 hours then I'll just start it off as a new iPad. The money on bought apps is not worth worrying about at this stage.

Just to add...

I've always complained about the ridiculous price on Apple products and swore I'd never use them again, but today I need to give them a thumbs up. Their preset anti-theft setup saved my iPad. The guy had completely wiped it but when I was setting it back up this afternoon there was a point where you still needed my Apple ID to be able to continue. This is why he still hadn't sold it. It's a paperweight for a thief.

If you've already paid for the apps, you can download them again without paying twice.

Just checked (decided to start the iPad from scratch again) and you are absolutely right. This day just keeps getting better. :D

Absolutely amazed you've been reunited with it to be honest. Fair play though mate....... although I might just have let the "thief" keep the PINK cover!!
