Sorry to hear about you misery.

However, no-one should stamp on somebody's head. That is an outrageous act of violence and the young lad who did this should be lucky that he did not become a murderer.

This said and done, compensation should be paid to the victim. Get copies of his medical bills and pay them. No more. Then get your stepson back home and make him face the music. And get him into the army asap, that's where killer instincts belong.

Two questions to which I would require answers to:

Firstly, at what age does your stepson assume responsibility for his behaviour?

Secondly, how would this be dealt with if you weren't around?
I would say that he would be responsible for his actions at 16 and we are not in Thailand and after a long period of time passing by all of sudden the family are looking for money funny that! We have been back to are village twice and nothing has been mentioned before six months ago about compensation.

It's not misery it's an issue we have to deal with and yes it will cost me one way or another but three drunk men started on a 17 year old lad he has a lovely nature, your comment on killer instincts is ridiculous it was self defence and panic these other lads that started are well known for fighting with scooter boys from neighbouring villages and the knifes often come into play in local rivalries.
To be put in that under attack situation you would not wish on any one individual but unfortunately it's very very different in Thailand life is cheap and weapons often get used for many different reasons.
The lad was in the wrong place at the wrong time but he was only sat on a motorbike watching the world going by.

Kendo.
