Hotel near Suvarnabhumi

Post by pjoz15 »

Hi folks.
I'm arriving in BKK next month on my way down to Hua Hin. Coming in on an evening flight and want to know if anyone can recommend a hotel near the airport for just one night as I will head back to the airport the following morning to catch the Airport Hua Hin bus. Also would any feedback on the bus company if possible would be most appreciated.
Many thanks.

I have stayed at the following hotel a few times but not in the last 2 years.
It was clean and cheap and has transportation to and from the airport.

^ I'd agree with ropes with regards to the Great Residence Hotel - We've stayed there several times over the years and found it to be clean, friendly and superb value for money. Very convenient for the airport (literally 5 minutes) with 1-way transport provided free of charge - you'll need to pay a nominal fee if you are returning to the airport in the morning.

For some reason the above link does not actually take you to the Great Residence site, but reviews/pictures etc. can be found here: - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revi ... ngkok.html

Lilac Residence is 5 minutes from the airport with transfers included in the price. They also have a free minibar in the room that includes a couple of cans of Chang. It's clean and the staff really helpful. No smoking inside the hotel.
Double room is usually 1650 Baht including breakfast.

I have stayed at The Great Residence three times on Pharvey recommendation. I can echo the above comments. I would also add it's nice sitting outside drinking a few beers next to the klong.

Great Residence & the Pheonix are opposite each other almost..I've stayed at the Phoenix for ~1000B/night with 2 transfers + breakfast..and was happy with that, but DO agree that G.R. has the prime location overlooking the klong and the temple area..Both places seem to be well run.
