If you're flying in then many people recommend using the VIP bus service http://airporthuahinbus.com/ to get from the airport to HH and it costs just 305 baht.

I also recommend the bus but if you want a taxi I should say around 2500 from BKK and 1800 from HH.

I get a local firms taxi for 3000 round trip to central BK. Collect from home in HH. Delivered to location in Asoke. 2 to 3 hour wait time. Deliver me home to HH. Comfortable limo, safe and knowledgeable driver.

One time I was in the immigration line. A guy with a loud voice shouted---anybody want to share a taxi to HH. I raised my hand as did a few others. He shouted, meet at a certain place. We did, formed 2 groups of three, came to HH for 500b each.

See Danny Boys post #3 with link. The VIP Bus service runs every 2 hours from Bangkok Airport. Takes about 3.5 hours. costs 305 Baht. It is comfortable, cheap and safe. Best to make an online booking to guarantee a seat.

True. There's a free shuttle from DM, but that adds about another hour onto your journey time (that may or may not be an issue depending on the time your flight arrives and the time of the next bus from Swampy)
