Driving to BKK during the protests

Post by oakdale160 »

I asked this on the thread about the protest, but most posters are understandably concerned with the politics.Anybody driven toBKK, what is the traffic situation, any advice?

There is no problem at all in driving to BKK, especially the airports as you are on highway all the way. If concerned just stay clear of government buildings and areas where protest may be taking place. Same as anywhere in the world, Thailand is no different

One of the easiest drive in for months, held up for 1min at one intersection while protesters crossed. They had their own traffic cops, better than the usual crowd.

Rode up the coast this weekend, some of the gas stations were packed with protesters heading to Bangkok so it looks like round two is about to start.
