Took the minivan to Don Muang this morning, you need to allow 4 hours for the journey since it stops about 20 times between HH and Petchaburi to pickup passengers.

We just did the minibus from Hua Hin to Don Muang airport on the 7th March.

We got it from the stop on the main road in front of Citiloft, but I think the start location is at Sa Song Road. They go every hour from there, so if you pick it up from the Citiloft location, be there at half past, as I think we just missed one and we had to wait nearly an hour for then next one. (we had no idea about the Sa Song stop at that point ! Which I think is the official on the hour start point)

The advantage of picking the bus up from the Citiloft location is the choice of seat. The back row is really cramped and not recommended, and as it's first come, first serve, if you're the first on the bus before it gets to Sa Song Road, then you should be able to get one of the more comfortable seats. Tickets are 200 BHT.

However, this is not a good transport option if you have baggage - there just isn't enough room for suitcases.

They stop for a gas refill about 2 hours in and you can have a leg stretch and toilet break.

The journey took 3.5 hours and drops you off outside Don Muang train station which is opposite the international terminal. Just cross the pedestrian footbridge into the terminal.

On the way back from Don Muang airport to Hua Hin, we exited the airport following the pedestrian footbridge to the Amari hotel and train station and came out in front of the train station. There we got the local bus to Rangsit Future Park (going north), which was 7 BHT and took about 15 minutes. From there we walked over to outside the Major Cineplex where all the minibus vendors are and bought our tickets there. Again 200 BHT. It took 3.5 hours to get back to Hua Hin and we left at 16:30, so not bad for that time of day.

It isn't a super comfortable way to get to the airport, but it's a bit easier then doing the Victory Monument route with added taxi/BTS/bus.

Does anyone know if you can get the minibus from Don Muang to Hua Hin from around the same place where they drop you off when going the opposite way from Hua Hin to Don Muang?
Alternatively, does anyone have a phone number for this service.
Thanks for any help you may have!

I did this last month. From DM take a taxi to Rangsit. There's a mall and cinema there, the taxi needs to do a u-turn as the vans on that side go to Pattaya etc. There's a row of stalls by the roadside , I think it's the last stall that goes to HH.

We asked the same question when we came back last year. They told us they couldn't make pick-ups because the drop-off is the first of several stops they make. The bus goes back to Victory Monument to start the return journey.

We got a taxi to Suvarnabumi, and the airport bus from there.

Thanks a lot for that! Took your advice. Taxi from airport to Rangsit 175 baht (with meter + 50 baht official surcharge for driver imposed at airport).
Got minibus more or less straightaway for HH at 200 baht per pax. Arrived HH 3 1/2 hours later.

I just used DMK a couple of days ago and thought this will be useful.

There's no need to grab an outside bus/taxi to Rangsit anymore to take the minibus to HH. DMK now has big buses (with a/c) inside the airport (follow the big "BUS" signs), going directly to Mo Chit via the tollway. It's fast, cheap (30 baht/person), and you can bring your luggage on board. Mo Chit has minibuses to HH. If you're staying in Bangkok you can instead hop on the skytrain there.

I'm doing DMK to Hua Hin next month. Are the minibuses easy to find at Mo Chit?

The photo of the HH-Don Muang van schedule in this post is no longer correct. They're running the vans every 40 minutes now. Here's an updated one for reference:

The van to don muang can no longer stop at don muang. The police apparently watches out for the vans and fines them if they stop there. Passengers must get off around din daeng or at rangsit park and make their way to the airport.

Hopefully this situation won't last long...
