It only took us 3 hours as it's almost non-stop, and a free bottle of water for the journey. The bus station is at Sai Tai Mai Bus Terminal, Pinklao and the ticket is 160 baht. You have to decide.. what is more important.. an hour difference on travel ... or 3000 baht.

In Bangkok, minibuses start from Ratchawitee Hospital near the Victory Monument, every 15 minutes. The ticket costs 200 THB.

So if i say to the taxi driver in bangkok city to Sai Tai Mai Bus Terminal, Pinklao.. they will know it?
Thanks so much! So how about Hua Hin back to Bangkok Airport? Could you tell me the name of the place to take buses back to the airport? Since this is the first time i travelled to hua hin, somewhat confused me alot.

That address should be ok for a taxi driver to know where you want to be. You buy your ticket at a booth in the station. If I remember correctly, you need to be at departures (not arrivals which is on the other side of the station) at stand number 7 (but check this at the booth).

To get the bus back to Bangkok from Hua Hin, I believe you catch that at the Siri Petchkasem Hotel on Srasong Rd.

If any of my information is incorrect, I'm sure some residents will let you know. I won't be a resident until December. 8)

I don't think there in a bus from hh directly to the airport. With your budget you could take the bus to hh and when you get there arrange a taxi back to bkk and they will drop you off where you need to be. Any hotel can arrange a taxi or there are small booths all over town offering taxis. You will most likely end up paying 1500 to1800 baht for a ride back to bkk. If you are going directly to the airport a taxi is a nice way to go. Get in at your hotel and out at the airport. No lugging your bags all over the place.

Another way of getting to the airport cheaply is by minibus to Victory Monument, then one stop on the BTS heading east to..... (and I can't remember the station's name but it's clearly marked on the trains) and then the Express Train to the airport.
Did that a few years ago and was very pleasantly surprised with the speed, efficiency and cost. It may not be the best idea if you've got a lot of luggage though and you'll need to chance not getting a suicidal minibus driver.

A much slower alternative is the bus from HH to Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai ) in Bangkok then walk over to another part of the terminal and get on the Airport 'express' bus.
Allow plenty of time as they are approx.45 min frequency and can get badly delayed in Bangkok's traffic jams.

Pm me if you can. I would not take a suicidel bus to save some money. THB 1800 for a private taxi from whereever you are in BKK to the door in HH, and 1600 the other way. Leo

Taxis can be booked online via this website. In general they range in price from 1500-2000 for a battered LPG powered Nissan driven by a lunatic to 2500-3000 for a reliable, luxury sedan, professional driver who will wait, and online reservations and payment. Take your pick.

Bit of a 'sweeping' one that Lev. I pay 1800 (normally just give 2 grand though) and the car is not battered nor is the driver a lunatic. :?

The point being that people always wants to save a baht or two on a taxi but there is a great difference in service and quality with them which is often over looked. The OP did specify cheap though so there isn't much likelihood of securing an online booking for our limo service as it costs a couple of bucks more than one found on the street for the peace of mind of an advanced reservation and a driver who is guaranteed to be there waiting for you.

For those wondering, our cut for being the booking agent is generally less than 8% so it really isn't worth our time of day pushing taxis on this forum.

I get what you're saying. Just had a look at that http://www.taxihuahin.net and yes, the vehicle is certainly a lot nicer. Was just pointing out that they are not all lunatics behind the wheel at that price - only 95% of them are.
