Post by fabman »

hi , we are looking to rent a small house preferably or apartment long term for under 10 thousand baht per month ( somewhere with a kitchen etc ) a lot of the apartments we already looked at are just a basic room and bathroom.

The esate agents here wont have anything under 15-20 k per month at best !

if anyone knows anywhere or anyone wanting to rent out privately please let me know

many thanks

thanks which is seejays ?

you can actually rent a fairly decent room with a bathroom in the centre of town for less than 3 1/2 thousand per month long term .. but we just want somewhere bigger and with a kitchen !

the prices seem to increase dramatically once your after something a bit better ( with a kitchen , garden etc )

If you want more you have to pay more. Don't bother with agencies at that price.
1) it's not worth their time
2) house owners at that price don't enlist agents or use the internet

Pretty sure you can get a small house with kitchen for under 10 000 baht if you look around. I have a 2 bedroom house, with kitchen, garden and an air con, that I have been renting out, unfurnished, for 7500 baht per month. It was immaculate and freshly painted 2 years ago. I would imagine that there are plenty of similar houses in Hua Hin. Unfortunately, my house is still occupied, even though they are always behind on paying the rent!

Try looking around some of the slightly older moobaans, you should see a few To Let signs on peoples' gates or walls. Don't rush into anything, it's a buyers' market. I recently let my 3 bedroom house in nice condition in Tippawam 4 for 8,500. I'd hoped for 12,000 but got so fed up with time wasters that I finally gave in to an offer.

thanks for the replys guys , pranbui sounds like a good bet for the future ..

seems like a good idea then is to look around the older housing projects ( moobaans ? )

maybe there are other houses in Tippawam

we will have a scout around some more sois in the next few days

Around soi BonGai I used to rent a house that had 2 bedrooms, living room, a back area that was a kind of kitchen I guess and the standard front area outside with a huge metal gate, that was 5k a month long term. All you need to do is literally get on your bike or in your car and drive around all day looking for those for rent signs and phone numbers, you will be surprised what you can get for under 10k a month. Screw your tent idea frank

HI

Have you found anything yet? If not, are you okay with living in Borfai (soi 6)?

The reason I'm asking is because there a smallish two bedroom house with loung, kitchen and bathroom, only about 500 meters from where I stay and I think the owner charges 7,000 per month. If you're interested I'll have a look to see if it's still available, and if there's a contact number.

I think you could also find a place for 10,000 in Salapa Village, also in soi 6. Quite a new development, and the houses are not bad but also not very big. I know there is one which is going for 10,000, and it also has a pool.

Feel free to send me a PM if you want.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
