UK airports closed

Post by mr lonely »

All UK airports closed due to snow
Manchetser unlikely to reopen until tomorrow.
Came for holiday just before Xmas, hardly a day without snow.
13" lying snow in peak district, snowing like crazy again right now
The wind blows cold on brake and heath
The weeping willows cry
The mountains dark are jagged teeth
Against a leaden sky.

As far as I can see the only airport that is closed is Liverpool. Manchester was closed but has re-opened or is about to re-open.

Heathrow is open (I was there last night) but some flights into Gatwick have been diverted.

The news today said that there may be snow at LHR tomorrow, but not sure.

It's cold as a witches tit at the moment here in the UK, -17c in Scotland and -14c in Bournemouth last night, worse expected tomorrow. :(

STEVE G

:) You may get back to the UK but you may not get any further than LHR so pack a sleeping bag.

Being serious for a moment, you should be OK and get back to Yeovil, your only problem should be icy roads. :thumb:

Latest from BBC evening news Steve, 20cm of snow expected in Somerset/Devon tonight. Sorry.

Edit to add last line.

Sent home early or sacked BB

With my wife away, I get to lay in late, listen to classical music (Beethoven's 1812 The cannon version) with the volume on full, go to the pub and with the possibility of snow I may even build a snowman. :D

Been retired for ten years, so I'm slowly forgetting the meaning of the word work. Just having a Thai wife fills my day. :thumb:

BB

When you walk into your bosses office and he says "BB, I don't know how we are going to get by without you but as from Monday we'll try" then you may well have gotton your wish.

I miss those snow days when I lived back east, not many here in California, and I don't hope for "earthquake days"!!
