Looking for a golf game in November

Post by LEfant60 » Wed Sep 28, 2016 2:19 am

Hello everyone, I will be visiting for the month of November. I have played most of the courses in and around Hua Hin last year. I realize it will be HIGH SEASON, but I've come to play, so I won't let that bother me. My handicap is 8.6 (USGA) and it would be great to enjoy a round or two with some like minded players. A little competition is always a fun day! It's not to fun going out as a single. Hope to hear from some of you old duffers out there!

November, High Season? Hua Hin will be slightly less active than a Dodo. We haven't really had any rain yet, so I guess wet season could be finishing late this year also.

The last time I visited, I was told November is the start of High Season? If not I wonder why the prices go up? @ Harry Vardon, yes I would be interested.

I've thought about my comment, and maybe from the golfing angle, it could be classed as high season. I read a few weeks ago that Sept to Dec is high season for Asian visitors (in particular Chinese), so if they are golfers, courses might get busy. However, these visitors rarely frequent bars etc, so town still seems dead in November.

On November 1, rates at all the golf courses and hotels go up - it is considered high season until Songkran whether town is busy or not.

To the OP would also suggest you keep an eye out for the Power Tee event run twice monthly at Banyan. It's a lot of fun and good value.

@ "Big Boy" no worries, I appreciate the input and love your posts! Thanks to everyone for your inputs. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the US and back to the land of smiles! @ Woosie, I will definitely be looking in to that! I love that course!

If you live here permanently then there are openings if you fit in with the group. If you are here for a short time we are relaxed about guests.

As a matter of interest what are the general handicap levels of your group ?

FRom 4 to 36 with an average under 20. Enjoyment is 10 times more important than prestations although we do play to the rules of golf with a few practical local rules.
