artificial putting green

Post by jingjoe »

Has anyone installed an artificial grass putting green in their yard?
If so.. was it similar to putting on natural grass, could you chip on to it?

I am almost certain that there will be no suppliers in Hua Hin. I would ask the supplier if they have a green that you can try. They are very good to putt on and yes you can chip onto them but they tend to be a bit hard.

I work with my mate here in Melbourne and he installs synthetic lawns and specialises in golf greens. It's a long process to get a good green for putting. Just did one for a scratch golfer and he loves it, has a bunker and 5 holes. We are coming to Hua Hin again in July so if you like, give me your number and he'll call you when we arrive. Will try to upload photos of the green.

An old time baseball guy said of artificial grasss-- if cows won't eat it, I won't play on it.

i prefer grass too,but can't afford a fulltime greenskeeper
i reckon casey wouldn't even get a game of baseball these days if he won't play on artificial turf, that goes for football too

Do any premier league teams play on artificial turf and are any of the football world cup pitches not real grass. Perhaps you are referring to that namby pamby version of Rugby where the players have to wear protective gear and have a rest every few seconds to recover.
